Job Summary
The Truck Gate Officer is responsible for controlling access to the facility, verifying incoming and outgoing trucks and drivers, and maintaining a safe, secure, and orderly gate operation. This position requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to follow established security procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Monitor and control access to the facilitys truck gate.

- Verify driver identification, vehicle information, and delivery or pickup documentation.

- Confirm trucks are authorized to enter or exit the property.

- Maintain accurate records of truck arrivals, departures, and gate activity.

- Inspect vehicles and trailers in accordance with site procedures.

- Communicate with drivers, dispatchers, shipping and receiving personnel, and site management.

- Enforce facility access-control policies and security procedures.

- Monitor for unauthorized activity, safety concerns, or policy violations.

- Report incidents, suspicious activity, and operational concerns to the appropriate supervisor.

- Assist with traffic flow and maintain an orderly gate operation.

- Operate security equipment, access-control systems, radios, and other assigned tools.

- Complete required logs, reports, and documentation accurately.

- Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

- Must have at least 1 year of truck gate security experience.

- High school diploma or GED.

- Previous experience working in a truck gate, shipping/receiving gate, or industrial security environment.

- Ability to verify driver identification, truck information, and required documentation.

- Strong communication and customer service skills.

- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

- Must meet all company and client hiring requirements.

Physical Requirements

- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods.

- Must be able to sit, stand, and move throughout the assigned post as required.

- Must be able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

- Must be able to walk, bend, stoop, and climb stairs when necessary.

- Must be able to visually inspect vehicles, trailers, identification, and documentation.

- Must be able to use a telephone, radio, computer, and other assigned security equipment.

- Must be able to respond promptly to alarms, incidents, and emergency situations.

- Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 25 pounds , when required.

- Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
