## Assembly & Logistics Technician
Position Type: Direct Hire Compensation: $70,000-$80,000 Location: Florham Park, NJ Experience: 2 years
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
PrideStaff is seeking a hands-on Technical Assembly & Warehouse Shipping Coordinator on behalf of our client based in Florham Park, NJ. This unique role combines technical mechanical/electrical assembly with core warehouse and shipping operations. You will be responsible for building subassemblies from schematics and coordinating warranty, service, and technical support shipments to customers.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Assembly
Read and interpret schematics, engineering drawings, assembly diagrams, and technical documentation.
Safely assemble mechanical and electrical components and subassemblies using standard hand tools according to engineering specifications.
Verify assembly accuracy, inspect for damaged or missing parts, and report discrepancies to internal teams.
Package completed subassemblies properly to prevent damage during transit.
Warehouse & Shipping Operations
Pick, organize, stage, and package warranty, service, and technical support orders.
Verify part numbers, quantities, customer info, and shipping documentation before dispatch.
Coordinate with UPS, FedEx, and freight carriers to schedule pickups, prepare shipping labels/packing slips, and monitor shipment status.
Receive incoming materials, assist with material handling, and maintain accurate inventory records for commonly used service parts.
Identify and report inventory shortages or discrepancies promptly.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with Engineering and Manufacturing to clarify technical assembly requirements.
Coordinate with Customer Service to prioritize urgent warranty shipments and resolve order issues.
Proactively communicate project delays or supply issues to leadership.
Qualifications & Experience
Education: Associate degree in Engineering Technology, Manufacturing, Mechanical Technology, or a related technical field preferred.
Experience: 1–2 years of experience in technical assembly, manufacturing, warehouse, or field service support. (Candidates without a degree require 5+ years of relevant experience).
Technical Skills: Proven ability to read schematics, blueprints, and assembly drawings; strong mechanical aptitude.
Software & Logistics: Basic computer proficiency with the ability to learn ERP, inventory, and shipping software. Prior experience with carrier systems (UPS, FedEx, freight) is a plus.
Soft Skills: High attention to detail, strong time-management, excellent communication skills, and a customer-focused mindset.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to remain on your feet, stand, and move throughout the facility for most of the workday.
Ability to frequently bend, reach, push, pull, perform repetitive movements, and maneuver packages/assemblies.
Capability to safely handle materials and operate common warehouse and hand tools in a manufacturing environment.
Compensation / Pay Rate (Up to): $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 Per Year
