Position Title: Operations Manager / Director of Operations
Location: Bay Shore, NY ( 100% On-Site )
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Compensation: $120,000 – $160,000+ (Commensurate with experience) + Benefits
Reports To: Executive Leadership
Direct Reports: 10–15 Department Managers / Supervisors (Indirectly overseeing 150–200 total employees)

Our client is an established, industry-leading apparel design, manufacturing, and distribution organization operating a high-volume production facility in Bay Shore, NY.
Position Overview
We are seeking an energetic, hands-on Operations Manager / Director of Operations to lead day-to-day warehouse and production operations. This pivotal role oversees both logistical fulfillment and internal manufacturing units, managing a leadership team of 10–15 department managers and supervisors who guide an overall workforce of 150–200 employees.
The ideal candidate thrives on the floor, excels at building operational systems, tracks key performance indicators (KPIs), and leverages data and operational reports to continually drive throughput, quality, and labor efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership & Execution: Direct day-to-day warehouse, inventory, shipping/receiving, screen printing, embroidery, and finishing departments to ensure on-time fulfillment and high quality standards.
Team Management & Development: Directly manage, mentor, and hold accountable 10–15 department managers and supervisors. Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement across a 150–200 person workforce.
Productivity & KPI Tracking: Establish, measure, and analyze performance metrics across production units and warehouse fulfillment. Generate regular productivity and labor management reports for executive leadership.
Floor Presence: Maintain an active, hands-on presence across the facility floor to troubleshoot operational bottlenecks, optimize workflows, and maintain safety and production compliance.
Process Optimization: Implement continuous improvement techniques (Lean, 5S, or continuous workflow design) to maximize throughput, minimize scrap rates, and maintain inventory accuracy.
Cross-Department Collaboration: Partner with supply chain, customer service, quality assurance, and senior leadership to align production schedules with incoming customer demands and peak seasonal shifts.
Qualifications & Skills
Experience: 7-10+ years of progressive leadership in warehouse operations, manufacturing, or fulfillment facilities, managing large teams (100+ total indirect reports).
Data & Technical Savvy: Proficient in ERP/WMS systems, reporting tools, and Microsoft Excel. Demonstrated capability in generating, analyzing, and acting upon production and labor reports.
Language Skills: Proficiency or working knowledge of Spanish is highly beneficial to effectively communicate across all facility teams.
Leadership Style: Hands-on, approachable leader who leads by example, demonstrates strong problem-solving capabilities, and builds high-performing managerial teams.
Compensation / Pay Rate (Up to): $120,000.00 - $160,000.00
