Overview

Byron Recruitment is seeking a knowledgeable and inspiring Aviation/Aeronautics Teacher to join a school community from October 26 . This role is ideal for an educator with strong academic and industry foundations in aviation who can bring technical concepts to life and help students build confidence, curiosity, and practical understanding in the field of aeronautics.

The successful candidate will deliver high-quality teaching, connect theory to real-world aviation practice, and support students in developing the skills needed for further study and future careers in aviation and related disciplines.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan and deliver engaging lessons in aviation and aeronautics aligned with the school’s curriculum and academic standards
- Teach core concepts such as principles of flight, aircraft systems, navigation, meteorology, flight safety, aerospace technology, and aviation operations
- Create a learning environment that encourages inquiry, problem-solving, and applied technical understanding
- Use a range of instructional strategies to meet the needs of students with different abilities and learning styles
- Assess student progress through assignments, projects, practical activities, and examinations, and provide timely feedback
- Integrate industry knowledge, current developments, and real-world case studies into classroom instruction
- Support students in developing technical vocabulary, analytical thinking, and practical aviation awareness
- Maintain accurate records of student achievement, attendance, and performance
- Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement of the aviation/aeronautics program
- Promote safe practices and a strong culture of responsibility, professionalism, and compliance within all learning activities
- Collaborate with colleagues, school leaders, and parents to support student success and wellbeing
- Participate actively in school events, meetings, professional development, and wider school life

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Aviation, Aerospace Engineering, Aeronautics, or a related field
- Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) or equivalent certification
- Relevant industry certifications in aviation or aeronautics
- A formal teaching qualification such as PGCE, PGDE, Bachelor of Education (B.Ed), or a valid state/national teaching license including US Teaching License, UK QTS, or MoE Teacher License
- Demonstrated ability to teach aviation or aeronautics concepts clearly and effectively
- Strong subject knowledge in aviation theory and applied aeronautics
- Excellent classroom management, communication, and organizational skills
- Commitment to student development, academic excellence, and professional standards
- Availability to join on October 26

Nice to Have

- Previous experience teaching aviation, aeronautics, aerospace, or related STEM subjects in a school or college setting
- Experience delivering practical, project-based, or career-focused learning
- Familiarity with international curricula or diverse student populations
- Industry experience in flight instruction, aviation operations, aerospace engineering, or related sectors
- Experience supporting extracurricular activities such as aviation clubs, STEM projects, or student competitions
