Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounting Clerk to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting student or entry-level accounting professional looking to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced business environment.
The Accounting Clerk will provide support across a variety of accounting and billing functions, including fuel billing, fuel card management, customer portal activity, accounts payable and receivable support, billing, voucher processing, and month-end close activities.
This position is being designed with a potential part-time-to-full-time career path . The ideal candidate may be currently pursuing an Associate’s degree in Accounting and looking to gain valuable practical experience while completing their education, with the opportunity to work full-time during school breaks and transition into a full-time position following graduation.
As the company continues to grow, this individual will have the opportunity to take on additional responsibilities and expand their accounting knowledge and skill set.
Compensation: Competitive Pay - Paid weekly, every Friday! Pay Range: $20.00-$24.00 depending on experience.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Process and maintain fuel billing accurately and timely.
- Manage and maintain fuel cards , including related documentation and transactions.
- Manage truck parking and Truck Parking Club contracts .
- Enter and maintain information within customer portals.
- Run finance charges and customer statements .
- Provide backup support for cash deposits and cash applications .
- Provide backup support for lease and rental billing .
- Process and bill applicable tolls and fines .
- Enter and maintain vehicle mileage information.
- Match vouchers to credit card statements/bills and research discrepancies as needed.
- Enter and process accounting vouchers.
- Assist with month-end close activities .
- Assist with general ledger account reconciliations .
- Maintain accurate and organized accounting records and documentation.
- Assist the accounting team with various projects and day-to-day accounting needs.
- Take on additional responsibilities as business needs evolve and the company grows.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Accounting preferred; currently pursuing an Associate’s degree in Accounting or related field strongly encouraged .
- Previous accounting, billing, bookkeeping, or related experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment .
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize competing responsibilities .
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word .
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to learn new systems, processes, and accounting functions quickly.
- Dependable, self-motivated, and willing to take on additional responsibilities as knowledge and experience grow.
- Demonstrated interest in developing a career in accounting.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is someone who is early in their accounting career and eager to gain practical, hands-on experience . This could be an accounting student attending a local community college who wants to work part-time while completing their degree, increase hours during school breaks, and potentially transition into a full-time accounting position after graduation.
