Fields Collision Center Glenview is motivated and dependable Auto Body Technician Apprentice to join our automotive collision repair team. This is an entry-level position designed for someone who wants to develop hands-on skills in auto body repair while working alongside experienced technicians.
The apprentice will assist with vehicle disassembly, body repairs, preparation, and reassembly while learning proper repair techniques, safety procedures, and industry standards.

Pay: $35,000-55,000 DOE

Responsibilities
- Assist experienced body technicians with collision and body repairs.
- Remove and reinstall vehicle components, trim, bumpers, lights, and other parts as directed.
- Assist with dent repair, panel replacement, sanding, grinding, and surface preparation.
- Prepare vehicles and parts for bodywork and refinishing.
- Keep work areas, tools, and equipment clean and organized.
- Learn and follow manufacturer repair procedures and shop safety requirements.
- Assist with moving and positioning vehicles within the shop.
- Inspect parts and components for damage or required replacement.
- Properly handle and store tools, equipment, and materials.
- Complete assigned tasks efficiently while maintaining quality standards.
- Work as part of a team and communicate effectively with technicians and management.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous automotive, mechanical, or collision repair experience is helpful but not required .
- Willingness to learn and develop automotive body repair skills.
- Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to follow instructions and work safely.
- Good attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Basic knowledge of hand tools is a plus.
- Valid driver's license preferred.
