The Senior Commissioning Manager sits within M/E/P Services and leads commissioning, startup, system completion, turnover, and operational readiness activities on data center and mission-critical projects. This role provides field leadership for commissioning Levels 1-3 and works closely with the Owner's commissioning team and project stakeholders in support of Levels 4-5 testing.

Responsibilities / Essential Functions

- Lead commissioning planning, coordination, execution, startup, system completion, and turnover readiness.

- Own and coordinate commissioning activities for Levels 1-3, including planning, documentation, testing, punch list activities, and readiness milestones.

- Coordinate contractors, vendors, OEMs, controls teams, MEP superintendents, commissioning teams, and operations personnel.

- Review drawings, specifications, sequences, and commissioning requirements to identify readiness issues and coordinate resolution.

- Coordinate pre-functional checks, startup activities, functional testing, system walkdowns, and turnover requirements.

- Manage commissioning documentation, including test plans, checklists, records, deficiencies, and turnover documentation.

- Support Owner-led Levels 4-5 integrated and system testing by coordinating field readiness, prerequisites, documentation, and issue resolution.

- Coordinate mechanical, electrical, controls, BMS/BAS, and related mission-critical systems through commissioning and operational readiness.

- Lead deficiency and punch list management, ensuring issues are documented, assigned, tracked, and resolved prior to turnover.

- Coordinate cutovers, operational transitions, contingency measures, and readiness activities with the project team and operations personnel.

- Track and report commissioning risks, constraints, schedule impacts, and readiness concerns.

- Promote safe work practices, quality expectations, and project safety requirements throughout commissioning and startup.

- Provide technical guidance and field leadership to project teams and trade partners.

Key Skills

- Strong understanding of mission-critical systems, commissioning, startup, system completion, turnover, and operational readiness.

- Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, controls, BMS/BAS, and integrated systems.

- Ability to read drawings, P&IDs, one-lines, control sequences, and commissioning documentation.

- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

- Ability to coordinate multiple contractors, vendors, OEMs, and project stakeholders.

- Strong understanding of field safety, quality, and readiness requirements.

Requirements

- 10+ years of experience in commissioning, startup, construction, or mission-critical project environments.

- 5+ years of experience leading commissioning teams or coordinating complex commissioning activities.

- Experience with Level 1-3 commissioning and supporting Level 4-5 integrated testing.

- Large data center, mission-critical, industrial, pharmaceutical, or advanced technology project experience preferred.

- Experience with mechanical, electrical, controls, BMS/BAS, startup, testing, and turnover activities.

- OSHA 30 preferred, or the ability to obtain it within 30 days.

- Willingness to travel and/or relocate for the duration of the project preferred.
