Manufacturing Associate-Clean/Test

We’re seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented and dependable Manufacturing Associate – Clean/Test to join our growing manufacturing team. As a Manufacturing Associate – Clean/Test, you will be responsible for assembling and fabricating Cryocooler products, troubleshooting equipment, performing assigned tests and accurately documenting results. You will work independently and as part of a team to ensure products meet established performance specifications and quality standards. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to interpret technical documentation and a commitment to following plant safety requirements and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Your tasks will include assembling, fabricating and replacing components as required, maintaining and troubleshooting equipment, and performing testing according to production schedules, work orders, test manuals, performance specifications, wiring diagrams and schematics. You will ensure work orders reflect the latest revisions before beginning testing, perform assigned tests accurately and efficiently, and keep your supervisor or Manager informed of progress, challenges and other relevant updates. You will also contribute to maintaining a safe, organized and productive manufacturing environment.

Location: Syracuse, NY

Pay Range: First Shift: $19.25-27.50/hr. (DOE)

Your main responsibilities would be

- Assemble, fabricate and replace components as required.
- Maintain and troubleshoot equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Review production schedules, work orders, test manuals, performance specifications, wiring diagrams and schematics to determine appropriate testing procedures and equipment.
- Verify that work orders reflect the latest revisions before beginning testing procedures.
- Perform assigned tests accurately and efficiently.
- Communicate progress, challenges and relevant updates to the Supervisor or Manager in a timely manner.
- Follow all plant safety requirements, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and established work instructions.
- Maintain a safe, clean and organized work environment.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

What we expect from you

- High school diploma/GED or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and training documents.
- Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings and blueprints.
- Ability to use and understand precision measuring tools and devices.
- Basic understanding of mechanical principles.
- Basic math skills, including adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing, and converting fractions and decimals.
- Ability to distinguish colors, including black, yellow, red, green and blue.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to performing work accurately.
- Ability to follow established procedures and safety requirements.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively as part of a team.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, reach with arms and hands, and use hand and finger dexterity. The employee is occasionally required to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and talk and hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

This position operates in a manufacturing environment and interacts primarily with internal customers in a professional, courteous and cooperative manner. Mandatory PPE must be worn as required. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and may occasionally be exposed to humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, heat, cold, electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately loud.
