About the Opportunity
Our client is a growing medical device company specializing in innovative spinal implant solutions. The company partners with surgeons, hospitals, and healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality, cost-effective technologies supporting spine surgery.
We’re seeking an experienced Spine Sales Specialist to support surgeons and customers throughout the Washington D.C. market.
The Role
This field-based position combines clinical OR support, technical expertise, and sales development . You’ll provide intraoperative case coverage, support surgeons and OR teams, manage instrumentation and implants, and help grow product utilization throughout the territory.
The position offers a clear path toward an Area Manager role with increased responsibility for territory development, sales, and leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide intraoperative case coverage for spine implant procedures.
- Serve as a technical resource on implants, instrumentation, and surgical techniques.
- Prepare and manage surgical trays, implants, and instruments for scheduled cases.
- Build strong relationships with spine surgeons, OR staff, and hospital personnel.
- Educate and train healthcare professionals on product use and best practices.
- Troubleshoot and problem-solve during surgical cases.
- Partner with sales leadership to identify opportunities and drive territory growth.
- Maintain accurate case logs, inventory, and reporting.
- Coordinate timely restocking and ensure proper return of instruments to SPD.
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies, regulations, and company procedures.
- Support last-minute cases and travel to surrounding territories as needed.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical device sales, surgical support, or OR case coverage experience.
- Orthopedic spine and/or neurosurgical experience required.
- Experience with spine implants, instrumentation, and surgical workflows.
- PA, RN, or Surgical Technologist background with spine experience is highly valued.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills with surgeons and OR teams.
- Excellent organization, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
- Comfortable working independently in a remote, field-based role.
- Ability to manage a flexible, travel-heavy schedule and respond to changing case requirements.
- Bachelor's degree preferred; relevant experience may substitute.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.

Location: Washington D.C. and surrounding markets. Candidates should be based in or have convenient access to the D.C. area and be comfortable with frequent local travel and OR case coverage.
