Location: Knoxville, TN
Pay: $85,000–$120,000 annually, DOE
Schedule: Full-Time

Position Summary

PrideStaff is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Controller for a growing manufacturing client in the Knoxville area. This key leadership position will oversee accounting and financial operations while partnering closely with operations and senior management to support profitability, cost control, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic decision-making.

The ideal candidate will have a strong combination of manufacturing industry experience and hands-on accounting expertise , with a solid understanding of cost accounting, inventory, financial reporting, and manufacturing operations.

## Key Responsibilities
Oversee day-to-day accounting and financial operations for the manufacturing facility. Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Manage the month-end and year-end close processes. Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and financial performance. Maintain and analyze standard costs, product costs, labor, overhead, and manufacturing variances . Monitor inventory valuation, cycle counts, work-in-process (WIP), and finished goods. Analyze production costs, margins, operational expenses, and profitability. Partner with manufacturing leadership to identify opportunities for cost reduction and operational improvement. Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, reconciliations, and fixed assets. Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with company accounting policies and GAAP. Provide financial analysis and reporting to senior leadership. Assist with cash-flow management and capital expenditure planning. Coordinate annual audits and work with external accounting and tax professionals. Develop and improve accounting procedures, reporting tools, and financial controls. Utilize ERP and accounting systems to improve financial reporting and operational visibility. Support leadership with data-driven recommendations regarding pricing, investments, costs, and business performance.

## Qualifications
Manufacturing accounting experience required. Previous Controller, Assistant Controller, Accounting Manager, or similar financial leadership experience required. Strong knowledge of cost accounting and manufacturing financial operations . Experience with inventory accounting, WIP, standard costing, variance analysis, and cost-of-goods-sold. Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting. Experience with ERP and accounting software. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities. Ability to communicate financial information effectively to both accounting and operational teams. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred. CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
Compensation / Pay Rate (Up to): $85.00 - $120.00
