POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
The person will:
- Perform a moderate number of simple or moderate technical procedures
daily mammalian cell culture
- molecular biology techniques such as DNA/RN isolation; PCR/qPCR, western blotting; drug treatment experiments; flow cytoertry
- may assist as needed with molecular cloning and mouse tumor studie and preparation of samples for genomic, ribosome-proiling and protemic analyses;
- prepare reagents
- assist with lab organization and inventory;
- maintain accurate experimental records
- Require occasional guidance;
- Occasionally be responsible for ordering routine supplies;
- Rarely modify technical procedures;
- Rarely train other lab members;
- Rarely guide other lab members;
- A simple / limited understanding of scientific literature and the research goals and rationale is required;
- Occasionally analyze data;
- Rarely interpret data;
- Rarely make written contributions to papers and grant proposals.*
QUALIFICATIONS
Required to have at least a Bachelor’s Degree in a related science or equivalent skills and related experience, and zero to two years of related experience

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the hourly rates for this are listed below. This rate is based on the 1199 bargaining unit contract.

ABOUT US
The Research Technician will participate in basic and translational cancer research investigating how “ mRNA translation regulates cancer progression, tumor immunity, and therapeutic response” . The technician will contribute to molecular biology experiments, tissue culture, and animal studies, including studies related to cancer-cell signaling, antigen presentation, immune responses, and responses to experimental therapeutics.
