About this role

Leadership and Management

- Work closely with the Controller, as well as other respective leaders on various projects, audit plans and schedules, internal financial reporting and strategic planning; and

- Manage a small team of Accounting Specialists

Support Financial operations within Property Management

- Budget creation and ongoing management;

- Preparation, and subsequent publishing, of timely and accurate monthly financial statements;

- Recognize key financial results and movements across programs;

- Work with external partners on audits

- Help ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting; and

- Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements.

- Other tasks assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications

Experience

- Experience working in a high-growth environment;

- Experience in property management a plus;

- Preparation of monthly and annual financial reporting for owners, including variance analysis and budget comparison;

- Maintenance of chart of accounts and project codes;

- Ensuring accurate job costs of projects;

- Working with investors on questions regarding accounting and returns of projects;

- Organizing and supporting external audits;

- Ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements; and

- Managing vendor payments to include timing.

Qualifications

- BA or BS degree in business administration, accounting, or finance preferred.

- Ideally 3+ years of accounting team experience.

- Property management software experience a plus (Yardi, AMSI, etc.).

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required, both verbal and written.

- Demonstrated skill with spreadsheets, critical thinking, writing and reading comprehension.

- Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP);

- Excellent organization, time management and project management skills;

- Self-starter with great organizational skills and attention to detail;

- Deadline oriented, committed to achieving and delivering accuracy as well as improving upon and streamlining operations;

- Adaptable, flexible, patient, and able to work with little outside direction;

- Ability to perform with a high degree of professionalism, integrity, and business ethics;

- Results-driven with demonstrated ability to execute and meet deadlines on goals and objectives;
