Purpose of Position
The Regulatory Engineer plays a critical role in securing new product approvals and managing ongoing compliance within the fueling industry across the North American market. As the subject matter expert (SME) in regulatory affairs and compliance, this individual supports new product development, sustaining activities including factory audits, and contributes significantly to our global regulatory strategy initiatives.
The ideal candidate possesses experience collaborating with cross-functional teams across both local and international settings. They are dedicated to driving continuous improvement and delivering value through timely project completion. Skilled in managing multiple projects simultaneously, they excel at building strong relationships with key regulatory agencies and ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, and aligned with business objectives. Additionally, they demonstrate strong abilities in risk assessment, issue management, and fostering effective solutions.
Key Responsibilities
• Collaborate with regulatory agencies and third-party testing laboratories such as UL to secure new product approvals.
• Lead regulatory projects from request for quotation (RFQ) through final certification, with an emphasis for on time delivery.
• Maintain and manage existing product approvals throughout the product lifecycle to ensure continuous compliance.
• Provide guidance on product labeling requirements and review labels for accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Develop and maintain strong working relationships as the company’s liaison with government and private agencies to facilitate product certifications and sustaining activities.
• Serve as the regulatory and compliance SME for the North American market.
• Communicate project status and key deliverables to senior management.
• Support the maintenance of regulatory files and databases to ensure rapid access to regulatory information for approvals and renewals.
• Interpret standards and regulations, providing clear guidance to cross-functional teams.
• Participate in regulatory and standards panels as required.
• Engage in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance regulatory processes.
• Support the execution of global regulatory strategy initiatives.
• Travel up to 15% as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Background and Skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical) or equivalent professional experience
• Two or more years of experience in regulatory and compliance roles; familiarity with oil and gas regulatory requirements is preferred
• Fluent in English
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional and multicultural teams
• Skilled in managing multiple complex projects simultaneously
