Role Overview

We are looking for a Senior Full-Stack Embedded Systems Engineer to lead the development and maintenance of software, embedded systems, hardware, and cloud platforms. The role requires strong hands-on expertise across Golang, Linux/Embedded Linux, MQTT, Svelte, PostgreSQL, Docker, mobile applications, cloud integration, and hardware/PCB design, with responsibility for taking products from development through production deployment. The ideal candidate can work independently across the hardware-to-cloud stack and collaborate directly with the CEO and technical team.

Key Responsibilities

- Maintain, upgrade, and extend existing software platforms including backend services (Golang), real-time communication (MQTT), frontend (Svelte), and database management (PostgreSQL)

- Complete the development of LMH Node 1 including Linux OS, core software, configuration software, and cloud monitoring integration

- Drive Customer EMS v2 from its current mid-build state to a fully deployed, production-ready platform

- Restore NovaSphere EMS services that were taken offline during the LMH console development phase

- Complete and deploy the PawaFlux mobile application to Play Store and App Store, and manage the transition arising from the hardware manufacturer change

- Deploy the main EMS mobile application to Play Store

- Complete the Lytup/Inverter-Manufacturer Cloud Integration on the Ops Dashboard

- Build and maintain system-level software including Linux-based OS builds, containerisation (Docker/Podman), and edge computing deployments

- Lead the design and development of hardware products where required, including PCB schematic review, layout guidance, and design for manufacturing

- Maintain, test, and support production of existing hardware product line

- Maintain and upgrade monitoring hardware deployed across field sites in West Africa

- Work directly with the CEO and internal team to ensure all deliverables meet production-ready standards

- Produce clear technical documentation for all completed work

Requirements

- 5+ years in a senior engineering or technical leadership role

- Strong proficiency in Golang and at least one other systems programming language

- Experience with MQTT, Svelte, PostgreSQL, Docker/Podman, and Linux operating systems

- Proven experience with embedded Linux OS development (Yocto, Buildroot, or similar)

- Mobile application development experience (iOS and Android, React Native or equivalent)

- Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking and the OSI model

- Proven experience in PCB schematic review, embedded systems, and hardware design

- Experience with edge computing platforms such as Raspberry Pi or similar

- Experience deploying applications to Google Play Store and Apple App Store

- Hands-on experience with cloud integration (AWS or equivalent)

- Ability to work independently across the full stack from hardware to cloud

- Strong written English and technical writing
