About the Position
Demand Planners are responsible for forecasting customer demand, analyzing sales trends, and aligning inventory levels to ensure optimal product availability. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with Sales, Accounting, and Operations to develop accurate demand plans that support business goals and drive efficient supply chain performance. The ideal candidate combines strong analytical skills with excellent communication and a proactive mindset to anticipate market needs and contribute to strategic planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage demand for all assigned stock items in SIQ
Collaborate with Account Manager, Alliance Supervisor, and/or Customer Support Representative to improve order and forecast accuracy
- Process and submit vendor purchase orders per SIQ
Purchases should be placed per SIQ suggestions (daily)
- Confirmation of pricing, freight terms, FOB terms, ship dates, per PO
- Process all inter-site transfers
Daily transfers to spokes
- Daily add-on transfers
- Weekly transfers back from spokes
- Site to site transfers
- Obtain PO acknowledgments from vendors and enter/update in Great Plains/Epicor
- Manage lead time in Great Plains/Epicor and SIQ
- Address late PO alerts daily
- Review projected stock-outs daily
Prioritize high-ranked items (item is projected out of stock and existing orders do not cover the shortfall); Medium-ranked items (item is projected out of stock, but existing orders will eventually cover the shortfall).
Expedite inbound PO’s to hub and/or spokes
- Communicate projected stock-outs for critical/common items to Account Manager, Alliance Supervisor, and/or Customer Support Representative and take actions taken to mitigate the issue
- Perform BKO RCA’s daily (responsible for all alliance RCA’s)
Update Customer Support Representative of status of materials
- Enter item replacements into SIQ
- Enter Inventory Management Requests (IMR’s) into SIQ after approval
- Resolve Vendor Issues (recorded in Smartsheet)
SCS is responsible for “Quality Issues” & “Invoice Price Discrepancy Issues”
- Operations is responsible for all other reason codes
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Economics, or a related field preferred
- 2-5 years of experience in demand planning, supply chain, forecasting, or inventory management
- Experience with demand planning software; StockIQ experience a strong plus
- ERP experience – Epicor a strong plus
- Smartsheet experience a strong plus
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Physical Requirements
This is a primarily sedentary, office-based role. In this position, you can expect to:
- Work at a computer for extended periods, including frequent use of a keyboard and mouse.
- Read and analyze detailed data, reports, documentation, workflows, and project information on a screen and in printed materials, requiring close attention to visual detail.
- Communicate regularly with colleagues by phone, email, virtual meeting, and in person.
- Occasionally move about the office and lift items up to 10 pounds, such as files and supplies.
