What Youll Be Doing

As our Leasing Consultant , you'll be the welcoming face of the community—responsible for creating exceptional experiences for prospective and current residents while supporting the overall success of the property. Key responsibilities include:

- Welcome and engage prospective residents, current residents, and guests in person, by phone, and through electronic communication.

- Conduct engaging community tours and showcase apartment homes, amenities, and everything that makes our community feel like home.

- Guide prospective residents through the leasing journey—from the initial inquiry to application, approval, and move-in.

- Assist with property operations in compliance with Affordable Housing, HUD/Section 8, and Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) regulations , including required documentation and reporting.

- Assist with move-in, recertification, and resident files to help maintain compliance with applicable funding and program requirements.

- Process rental applications, lease renewals, and related documentation accurately and efficiently.

- Respond to resident questions, concerns, and service requests with professionalism, urgency, and a solutions-focused mindset.

- Build strong resident relationships and support retention through exceptional customer service and community engagement.

- Maintain accurate, organized, and up-to-date resident files and leasing records.

- Partner with maintenance and property team members to help maintain a clean, welcoming, and well-presented community.

- Support marketing, outreach, and occupancy initiatives.

- Follow Fair Housing requirements, company policies, and all applicable laws and regulations.

- Help create a positive, inclusive, and welcoming environment where residents feel valued.

- Perform other duties as assigned.

Who You Are

Were looking for someone who combines customer service excellence with strong affordable housing knowledge . The ideal candidate will have:

- At least 1 year of Tax Credit/LIHTC or Affordable Housing experience — required.

- Working knowledge of HUD rules and regulations and low-income housing program policies and procedures .

- Previous leasing, property management, or related customer service experience preferred.

- Experience assisting with recertifications, move-in files, compliance documentation, and affordable housing requirements .

- A friendly, enthusiastic, and customer-focused approach.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and establish trust.

- The ability to overcome objections, identify resident needs, and effectively support leasing goals.

- Excellent organization, attention to detail, and follow-through.

- Strong time management and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

- Professional written and verbal communication skills.

- High school diploma or GED required; college degree preferred.

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel.

- Experience with Yardi, ResMan, On-Site, or other property management software preferred.

- Basic math and financial comprehension skills.

- Bilingual skills are a plus but not required.

- Valid drivers license, current automobile insurance, and reliable transportation required.
