At CMCS (Cardinal McCloskey Community Services) , our mission is to protect, empower, and promote independence for at-risk children and families, as well as individuals with developmental disabilities, through quality community-based services.

We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Director of Professional Development to join our Head Start Program .

In this leadership role, you will be responsible for coordinating and developing professional development initiatives for staff across various program models, including Early Head Start (EHS), Head Start (HS) Center-Based Programs, Home-Based Programs, Family Child Care (FCC), DOE Universal Pre-Kindergarten (UPK), and the Family Child Care Network (FCCN). The Director of Professional Development will collaborate with other agency divisions to support organization-wide learning initiatives and will oversee monthly monitoring and fiscal reporting of all ECED professional development budgets.

Responsibilities

- Develop educational and training plans to provide on-site support for all employees and providers within the ECED Division.

- Develop and implement coaching plans in collaboration with CLASS Coaches to support staff requiring additional training and professional development.

- Assist with preparation for divisional CLASS reviews.

- Organize, develop, and manage the professional development calendar for ECED staff across all program areas.

- Monitor and maintain the Training & Technical Assistance (TT&A) Budget, ensuring timely vendor payments.

- Identify and recommend staff for professional conferences and development opportunities.

- Provide monthly TT&A budget updates to the Senior Administrative Director of ECED and the Chief Education Impact Officer.

- Collaborate with the CMCS Professional Development Team to create ECED-specific training topics and implement agency-wide training initiatives.

- Oversee and administer ECED educational assessment databases, including:

Teaching Strategies Gold

- Aspire

- ChildPlus

- Aggregate, analyze, and report child outcome data.

- Track and monitor all divisional and agency-mandated trainings, including the required 15 hours of ECED training.

- Assist with OPP planning.

- Coordinate the ECED Self-Assessment process in partnership with the Senior Administrative Director of ECED.

- Coordinate the ECED School Readiness Committee with the Senior Administrative Director of ECED.

- Perform other duties as assigned by the management team and the Senior Vice President of ECED.

Requirements

- Master's Degree in Training, Early Childhood Education, or a related field preferred.

- Minimum of five (5) years of relevant professional experience.

- Knowledge and experience in the philosophy and practices of:

Head Start

- Universal Pre-Kindergarten (UPK)

- Early Childhood Education

- Developmentally Appropriate Practices (DAP)

- Experience working with:

ACS

- ACF

- DOE

- DOHMH

- CACFP

- Experience collaborating effectively with parents and children.

- Previous classroom teaching experience preferred but not required.

- Valid CLASS Observer Certification preferred but not required.

- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.

- Experience with data management, educational assessment systems, and program evaluation preferred.
