Project Manager

Overview

We are looking for a Project Manager to oversee engineering and industrial projects from initiation through completion. This role will serve as the primary point of contact for customers, internal teams, and contractors while ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with client expectations. This position offers a hybrid schedule with occasional travel throughout Central Ohio for customer meetings, site visits, commissioning activities, and project reviews.

Responsibilities

- Lead projects through all phases, from planning and execution to final delivery.
- Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, resource allocation, and key milestones.
- Act as the main liaison between customers, engineering teams, vendors, and subcontractors.
- Facilitate project meetings and provide regular updates on status, risks, and deliverables.
- Monitor budgets, labor utilization, and overall project performance.
- Coordinate onsite installation, startup, commissioning, and contractor activities.
- Manage project scope changes and oversee change order processes.
- Review technical documentation and support project execution efforts.
- Identify potential project risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Promote safe work practices while supporting successful project outcomes.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field; equivalent experience considered.
- 3+ years of project management experience within engineering, manufacturing, automation, or industrial environments.
- Demonstrated experience delivering projects on schedule and within budget.
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Experience managing customer relationships and cross-functional teams.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
- Willingness to travel to customer sites as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience supporting industrial automation, controls, or manufacturing projects.
- Familiarity with PLCs, HMIs, electrical systems, or industrial processes.
- Background coordinating contractors, installation activities, or commissioning efforts.
- Experience managing project scope, change orders, and customer-driven modifications.
- PMP certification or similar project management credential.

Work Environment

This role combines office-based project coordination with regular interaction at client facilities and manufacturing sites. The Project Manager will work closely with customers, engineers, operations teams, and contractors to ensure successful project delivery in a fast-paced technical environment.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Columbus, OH.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $41.00 - $56.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
