Summary of Role

Chartered Accountants Ireland is at the start of a journey to introduce new technology solutions that support its service to our Students, Members, Firms and other users. This forms part of a broader transformation programme focussed on modernising user experiences, streamlining processes and enhancing the way we work across the organisation.

As a Solution Architect you will be a member of the Business Technology team and report to the Head of Strategy, Design and Delivery who in turn reports to the CIO.

Key Responsibilities

We are seeking a Solution Architect to play a key lead role in the design, implementation, and integration of our evolving technology landscape. This is a unique and exciting opportunity to significantly contribute to both the future vision and the implementation of the Microsoft Dynamics 365 platform. As part of our transformation journey, we are replacing core legacy systems with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement (CE) and Business Central alongside other significant technology initiatives. The Solution Architect will collaborate closely with stakeholders across the organisation including supplier, Project Management, Delivery (mostly external), QA and Operations teams to ensure that our solutions align with our organisational goals and technical requirements.

Qualifications and Experience

- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Design & Architecture, ideally with experience in Solution Delivery/Development.
- Proven track record in leading the design and implementation of large-scale enterprise applications.
- ERP experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or earlier versions.
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 CE and Business Central modules.
- Understanding of cloud computing, particularly Microsoft Azure.
- Experience with Power Platform, including Apps; Automate, and BI.
- Experience with service-oriented architecture (SOA), microservices, and API design.
- Experience with implementing solutions that use Generative AI

Technical Skills

- Experience across technology layers (database, backend, integration, UX etc).
- Understanding of network and security architecture.
- Knowledge of data integration patterns and best practices.
- Knowledge of data management, data analytics and business intelligence tools.
- TOGAF or other similar certification an advantage

Soft Skills

- Excellent communication and people skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships and work collaboratively with stakeholders at all levels
- Thoughtful and solution-orientated approach to problem solving and decision making.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with third-party service providers.
- Experience of agile development practices.
- Curiosity about emerging technologies and their practical application to business challenges.
- Ability to lead discussions, facilitate decision-making, and support teams in delivering successful outcomes
