Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Solution Architect to design and deliver enterprise technology solutions across application, integration, data and cloud environments.

The successful candidate will have strong experience in solution design and architecture, with a particular focus on the Microsoft technology stack and Azure, and will work closely with business and technical stakeholders throughout the solution lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead solution architecture activities across large and strategic technology projects.
- Work closely with Business Analysts and project teams to understand business requirements and define non-functional requirements.
- Design end-to-end solutions across database, backend, integration and user experience layers.
- Develop clear and concise solution designs aligned with architectural strategy, standards and business requirements.
- Design cloud-native, hybrid cloud and cloud migration solutions using Microsoft Azure.
- Collaborate with enterprise, application, infrastructure, security and other architecture teams to develop holistic solutions.
- Present solution designs through architecture governance and review processes.
- Provide architectural oversight throughout implementation, ensuring delivery remains aligned with the approved solution design.
- Support the development of technology and application architecture roadmaps.
- Provide technical advice and architectural guidance to project and delivery teams.
- Contribute to the development of architecture standards, patterns and improved ways of working.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with senior business and technology stakeholders.

Qualifications

Essential Experience

- Strong and demonstrable experience in Solution Design and Solution Architecture.
- Experience designing end-to-end solutions across multiple technology layers, including: Database
- Backend
- Integration
- UX / frontend

- Strong experience with Microsoft Azure Platform Services.
- Experience designing cloud-native business solutions using Azure.
- Experience designing hybrid cloud solutions and/or migrating applications from on-premises environments to Azure.
- Experience producing high-quality solution designs and taking them through architecture governance.
- Strong understanding of architectural principles, standards and design patterns.
- Experience defining and incorporating non-functional requirements into solution designs.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage effectively with senior business and IT stakeholders.
- Experience providing architectural oversight and guidance during solution implementation.

Technology Experience

Experience across some or all of the following Microsoft technologies is preferred:

- Microsoft Azure
- .NET
- Microsoft SQL Server
- Microsoft Dynamics 365
- Angular

Desirable Experience

- Experience with architecture modelling tools such as Sparx Enterprise Architect.
- Knowledge of architecture frameworks such as TOGAF.
- Experience working on large-scale enterprise transformation programmes.
- Experience supporting technology procurement and development projects.
- Experience developing architecture roadmaps, standards and reusable architecture patterns.
