About this role
- Sell residential products to homeowners, builders, and contractors at the showroom and at customer locations.
- Develop and maintain relationships with purchasing agents, superintendents, and builders to generate new business and support existing accounts.
- Proactively manage assigned territory by regularly calling on current and prospective customers to drive sales and increase market share.
- Present and demonstrate products, clearly communicating features, benefits, and value to customers.
- Prepare and deliver accurate quotes, including pricing, credit terms, and sales agreements.
- Maintain detailed and up-to-date quote logs and sales activity reports.
- Review and interpret builder plans, blueprints, and scopes of work to develop accurate job estimates.
- Coordinate with operations to provide customers with reliable delivery timelines based on production and scheduling.
- Partner with builders to minimize non-billable or zero-dollar service trips through effective planning and communication.
- Support accounts receivable efforts by assisting with collection of outstanding balances when necessary.
- Conduct on-site job inspections, including pre-installation, in-progress, and post-installation follow-ups to ensure quality and customer satisfaction.
- Represent the company at trade shows, home shows, and industry events.
- Minimum of 3 years of outside sales experience (door or related industry preferred).
- High school diploma or GED required; some college coursework preferred.
- Strong communication, relationship-building, and organizational skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction documents.
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage time and territory effectively.
