Job Summary:
Storeroom attendant maintains material and supplies to ensure uninterrupted service to plant operations. Accepts merchandise that has arrived, unpack merchandise from the warehouse, check for damage or mislabeling, and get it where it needs to be. Often, they make sure the right items are in the right place, and update inventory records.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Examines stock to verify conformance to specifications.
- Stores articles in bins, on floor, or on shelves, according to identifying information such as style, size, or type of material.
- Check items received against packing list, unloading reports, invoices, etc.
- Receive storeroom items into computer system.
- Fills requisitions and issues parts and supplies from stock.
- Reviews MRP status and enters requisition in computer system.
- Develops and maintains profession relationship with suppliers.
- Expediting as required.
- Interfaces with Operations personnel to ensure service is meeting expectations.
- Participates in periodic, special, or perpetual inventory of stock.
- Reviews records for accuracy of information and compliance with established procedures, and determines adequacy of stock levels (Min/Max)
- Marks identifying codes, figures, or letters on articles.
- Distributes stock among production workers, keeping records of material issued.
- Participates in determining methods of storage, identification, and stock location, considering height, weight, turnover, space required.
- Moves or transports material or supplies to other departments.
- Maintains inventory and other stock records.
- Studies item activity and recommends remedial actions for non-usable/slow moving inventory.
- Records inventory transactions in computer system. (Issues to work centers)
- Maintains clean and orderly storeroom and receiving area on a daily basis.
- Performs other duties as required.
Qualifications
Minimum Education and/or Experience Requirements:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or 3+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficient in MS Office and experience with MRP system. Forklift experience preferred.

- Other Skills and Abilities: Must be computer literate and able to work with programs such as Word, Excel, etc., and be able to learn and use HP programs such as e-mail, ERP system, etc.
