About This Role

As a Launderer I, you play an important role in maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for our residents. This position is responsible for processing linens, resident clothing, and other laundry items while ensuring quality, cleanliness, and infection prevention standards are consistently met. Success in this role means delivering exceptional service, protecting residents' personal belongings, and supporting the overall well-being of the community.

What You'll Do

- Process resident laundry, linens, towels, and other items through sorting, washing, drying, folding, pressing, and distribution activities.

- Follow established laundry procedures and infection prevention protocols to maintain a sanitary environment.

- Prepare and use cleaning chemicals according to manufacturer instructions and departmental guidelines.

- Collect, transport, and distribute laundry items throughout the community.

- Maintain laundry equipment, work areas, and storage spaces in a clean, organized, and safe condition.

- Inspect equipment and promptly report maintenance concerns, damaged equipment, or safety hazards.

- Follow safety procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment and safe handling of soiled linens.

- Complete required documentation, service requests, and incident reports accurately and timely.

- Maintain resident confidentiality and treat all residents, guests, and team members with courtesy, dignity, and respect.

- Assist with inventory management, supply stocking, and other departmental duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Skills You Need

Must-Have Skills

- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.

- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and established procedures.

- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Ability to safely operate laundry equipment and handle cleaning products.

- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, and perform physical tasks throughout a scheduled shift.

- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.

Nice-to-Have Skills

- Previous laundry, housekeeping, environmental services, hospitality, healthcare, or senior living experience.

- Knowledge of infection control and laundry sanitation practices.

- Experience operating commercial laundry equipment.

- Customer service experience.

Education: High school diploma or GED preferred. Equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant experience will be considered.
