About This Role
Vicar's Landing is seeking a talented and passionate Chef de Partie to join our Dining Services team. As a key member of the culinary operation, you will oversee a designated kitchen station, ensuring exceptional food quality, presentation, and consistency while supporting a world-class dining experience for residents and guests. This role combines culinary expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to hospitality to deliver meals that enhance resident satisfaction and well-being.
What You'll Do
- Prepare, cook, and present high-quality meals in accordance with established recipes, dietary guidelines, and resident preferences.
- Manage a designated kitchen station and ensure all food items meet quality, presentation, and portion standards.
- Collaborate with the Executive Chef and Sous Chef to accommodate special dietary needs, including low-sodium, diabetic, vegetarian, and allergen-conscious meals.
- Complete daily food preparation and station setup to support efficient kitchen operations.
- Ensure food is properly stored, labeled, dated, and rotated according to food safety standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work environment while adhering to HACCP and health department requirements.
- Assist with receiving, storing, and inventorying food and supplies.
- Support training and mentorship of new culinary team members.
- Follow all safety, sanitation, and workplace procedures while maintaining professional kitchen standards.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support culinary and dining operations.
Qualifications
Skills You Need
Must-Have Skills
- Strong culinary skills and knowledge of food preparation techniques.
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
- Understanding of dietary restrictions, allergens, and nutritional needs, particularly for older adults.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and perform efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to food quality.
- Excellent teamwork, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Previous Chef de Partie or similar culinary experience.
- Experience in senior living, hospitality, healthcare, country club, or resort dining environments.
- Culinary certifications or formal culinary training (Rouxbe, City & Guilds, NVQ, or equivalent).
- Experience mentoring or training culinary team members.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Culinary education or related certifications are preferred but not required.
