About this role

Purpose of Position

Assists the manager with overseeing the direct consumer loans area and consumer lending staff to ensure that all areas of direct lending are operating smoothly. Review the loan processor queues daily to ensure that call backs and loan processing are within required turn times. Monitors the loan volume daily to ensure proper staffing and notifies management if there are any issues. Handle member complaints and escalations. Assist the manager with daily funding objectives and loan goals. Provide high level service to our members. Respond to members' questions about our lending policies, interest rates, terms, loan limits and assist in the funding of approved loan applications. Act as an on-the-job trainer for new staff to include coaching and mentoring staff. Must have the ability to multitask and shift gears quickly and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Duties

- Assist the manager in overseeing the direct consumer loans and consumer lending staff.

- Prioritize daily functions-based workload.

- Provide daily instructions to the Loan Processors as needed and delegate work assignments as needed.

- Report to management any issues an recommend solutions.

- Assist management with funding objectives and loan goals.

- Must keep management informed of any issues, concerns, backlog and loan processing delays.

- Must be able to analyze loan applications, credit bureau reports, collateral evaluation, member account data, financial statements, tax returns, pay stubs and other loan documentation. Determine debt to income ratio and general loan quality.

- Acts as a trainer to new staff and develop staff with coaching and mentoring.

- Monitors the Loan Specialist loan queues to ensure member contact is being made within the required time frames and the required number of call attempts have been made for the front and back queue.

- Maintain productivity and quality of service standards and expectations.

- Take escalation calls, research and respond to member complaints. Use discretion to make appropriate adjustments as required.

- Maintain a thorough knowledge of loan types, interest rates, policies and procedures as well as lending regulations.

- Other duties as assigned.

- Attends work regularly and according to work schedule; limits absences according to personnel policies regarding leave usage.

- Interacts with co-workers, supervisors, members, and outside contacts in an appropriate and professional manner, projects a positive image of the department and Andrews Federal.

- Remains cognizant of and adheres to Andrews Federal policies and procedures, and regulations to the Bank Secrecy Act.

Required KSA's

- Three to five years of related work experience in loan processing and funding consumer loans.

- Must be able to prioritize, multitask, and juggle work responsibilities.

- Oriented and possess excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills.

- Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and shift gears quickly.

- Experience with Meridian Link, Episys, and Symitar a plus.

- Interacts with staff across the organization and members on a regular basis, has significant communication with lending loan officers.

Physical Requirements

- Ability to sit at a desk and computer for extended periods.

- Ability to life up to 20 pounds.
