JOB SUMMARY:
Supervises the activities of a team of IT staff who provide technical support to a subset of the agency's information systems.

JOB DUTIES:
35% - Help Desk Operations: Manages and coordinates day to day operations for technical support for the CECAS CORE Help Desk located in 142 Freeman Hall. Ensures student employees are trained effectively and have the tools necessary to function autonomously. Compiles and maintains documentation on policies and procedures for help desk operation. Proactively monitors, troubleshoots, and diagnoses problems with IT systems. Reports issues to responsible parties and assists in the restoration of IT services in the event of service disruption.

25% - Project Support: Assists in planning and coordinating new and ongoing CECAS CORE projects. Works closely with the Director and Associate Director of CECAS CORE to ensure all major projects are on track and running smoothly. Manages facilities projects with little supervision, providing weekly updates on the status of work orders and projects. Coordinates with contractors and vendors to ensure work orders are handled in a timely manner. Provides assistance in the design and implementation of technology installations in new and existing facilities projects.

20% - Training: Provides training to faculty, staff and students on all hardware functionality, features, and best practices for VTC technologies. Prepares written documentation/training for IT systems and applications for faculty and staff using VTC resources. Provides in-person support for video teleconferencing meetings and classes involving on campus classrooms.

20% - End-User Support: Coordinates with college and campus information technology (IT) staff to provide end-user support for faculty, staff and students. Identifies hardware and software needs, advises faculty and research teams on making cost-effective choices and supports the purchasing, installation, and configuration of identified systems. Acts as a liaison to main campus IT groups.

Minimum Requirements:

A high school diploma and experience in computer operations or a related data processing field.

Supervises Student workers only

Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.
