About this role

Lorain County Community College seeks a highly organized, detail-oriented, service-focused Administrative Coordinator to provide comprehensive administrative support to the Human Resources Office and ensure the unit operates efficiently. This position serves as a key administrative liaison and resource, coordinating personnel processes, onboarding activities, information management, and day-to-day administrative operations.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide administrative leadership and support to the Human Resources Office, exercising sound judgment, discretion, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
- Handle employment verification requests.
- Create, distribute, and process Personnel Action Forms.
- Monitor office supply levels and place orders to replenish supplies as needed.
- Maintain strong familiarity with Human Resources policies, procedures, and resources while providing exceptional customer service when addressing a wide range of employment‑related questions.
- Facilitate in‑person onboarding for new hires and rehires, completing I‑9 verification, hiring the employee, launching the onboarding journey, and supporting the employee as they complete their onboarding tasks in the HCM system.
- Manage absence-related processes, including the annual rollover, processing plan changes and payouts, resolving discrepancies with Payroll, and assisting employees with questions about leave and absence balances.
- Maintain accurate personnel files and records in alignment with college policies and employment requirements.
- Perform other administrative duties as assigned.

Minimum starting rate $22.31, commensurate with experience

Required Qualifications: · High school diploma or equivalent. · Minimum of three years of related administrative or office experience. · Demonstrated ability to organize multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain accurate records. · Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and cloud-based HCM systems. · Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.

Preferred Qualifications: · Associate’s degree. · Experience working in human resources in higher education. · Experience completing and maintaining employment eligibility verification documentation. · Experience processing personnel actions and supporting employee-related transactions.
