About this role

### What to Expect
The Materials Control & Logistics Manager is responsible for leading all material planning, inventory control, warehousing, logistics and parts availability activities across Motorsport programmes. The role ensures race cars, spares, components and development parts are available in the right place, at the right time, and at the required quality and cost to support testing, racing, customer programmes and vehicle build activities. Operating within a fast-paced Motorsport environment, the role is accountable for maintaining supply continuity, managing logistics providers, controlling inventory accuracy and driving operational excellence across the end-to-end supply chain.

What You'll Do

Supply Chain & Materials Management

· Lead material planning activities across race programmes, vehicle builds and development projects.

· Ensure timely availability of components and assemblies to support build, test and race deadlines.

· Develop and maintain inventory control processes to optimise stock levels while minimising obsolescence.

· Manage material shortages, escalation processes and recovery plans.

· Drive inventory accuracy through robust cycle counting and stock reconciliation processes.

Logistics & Warehousing

· Lead warehouse, goods-in, dispatch and logistics operations.

· Manage domestic and international shipments, including customs compliance and temporary export requirements.

· Coordinate the transportation of race cars, equipment, spare parts and technical assets to global testing and race events.

· Develop logistics strategies to reduce risk, improve service levels and optimise spend.

· Manage third-party logistics providers and freight partners.

Motorsport Event Support

· Support race and test events through effective planning and deployment of parts and equipment.

· Ensure critical components are available for event operations and contingency planning.

· Coordinate urgent shipment solutions for event-related part requirements.

· Support post-event reconciliation and asset tracking.

Team Leadership

· Lead and develop Materials Controllers, Planners, Logistics Specialists and Warehouse personnel.

· Establish clear objectives, performance standards and development plans.

· Promote a culture of safety, accountability, continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Systems & Process Improvement

· Drive the effective use of ERP and MRP systems.

· Develop KPIs covering inventory accuracy, on-time delivery, logistics performance and material availability.

· Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce operational risk.

· Support digitalisation and supply chain transformation initiatives.

Financial Management

· Manage logistics and inventory budgets.

· Monitor freight costs, inventory holding costs and supplier performance.

· Support cost-reduction initiatives without compromising operational performance.

What You'll Bring

- Significant experience within Motorsport, Automotive, Aerospace, Defence or a similarly high-performance manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience managing materials control, logistics, warehouse or supply chain operations.
- Strong understanding of inventory management, MRP/ERP systems and supply planning.
- Experience managing international freight, customs and import/export compliance.
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing operational teams.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving capability.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

Desirable

- ·Previous Formula 1, Motorsport, Hypercar, GT Racing or high-performance automotive experience.
- APICS, CIPS, IoSCM or equivalent supply chain qualification.
- Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma or Continuous Improvement certification.
- Working knowledge of SAP or an equivalent ERP system.
