About this role

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Buyer to join our manufacturing team in Milwaukee, WI. The Buyer will be responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing materials, components, and services required to support production operations. This role works closely with suppliers, production planning, inventory control, engineering, and operations teams to ensure on-time delivery of quality materials while maintaining cost-effective purchasing practices.

Key Responsibilities

- Source and procure raw materials, components, equipment, and services to support manufacturing operations.
- Create, issue, and maintain purchase orders and related documentation.
- Monitor supplier performance, including quality, pricing, delivery, and responsiveness.
- Negotiate pricing, lead times, terms, and contracts with suppliers.
- Collaborate with production planning and inventory teams to ensure material availability and minimize shortages.
- Review inventory levels and forecasted demand to maintain optimal stock levels.
- Resolve supplier-related issues involving delivery delays, quality concerns, and invoice discrepancies.
- Identify and evaluate new suppliers to improve cost, quality, and supply chain reliability.
- Analyze purchasing trends and recommend cost-saving initiatives.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records within the ERP/MRP system.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within procurement and supply chain operations.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and procurement procedures.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of purchasing, procurement, or buying experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Strong understanding of supply chain, inventory management, and production planning concepts.
- Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Milwaukee, WI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $26.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job
classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be
