Bindery Operator
Location: Shawano, WI

Position Overview

We are seeking a Bindery Operator to set up and run folding and finishing equipment within a commercial printing facility. This position helps turn printed sheets into finished products that meet customer specifications and production deadlines.

The ideal candidate has mechanical aptitude, pays close attention to product quality, and works well with a production team.

Key Responsibilities

- Read job tickets and confirm product specifications before starting production.

- Prepare folding and other assigned finishing equipment for each job.

- Adjust machine settings to maintain accurate folds, alignment, and consistent output.

- Keep equipment supplied with materials and monitor production runs.

- Check finished pieces for defects, correct dimensions, and overall quality.

- Identify feeding problems and other operating issues, making adjustments within the scope of training.

- Record completed quantities, production time, waste, and equipment issues.

- Organize and package completed work for the next production step or shipment.

- Perform routine cleaning and assigned preventive maintenance.

- Follow machine safety procedures and communicate concerns promptly.

Qualifications

- Experience operating folding machines or other bindery equipment.

- Ability to understand written instructions, measurements, and job specifications.

- Mechanical aptitude and practical troubleshooting skills.

- Basic math and computer skills for measurements and production records.

- Strong attention to detail and commitment to consistent quality.

- Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with coworkers.

- Dependability and willingness to learn additional finishing processes.
