Cardiology Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
Tampa Bay, Florida | Outpatient and Inpatient Cardiology
Bay Area Cardiology Associates is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join its established cardiovascular team in the Tampa Bay area.
This full-time position combines outpatient cardiology with inpatient hospital responsibilities. The incoming APP may select a primary office location in Tampa, Brandon, Riverview, or Sun City Center and will collaborate with cardiologists and advanced practice providers across several cardiovascular specialties.
Position Highlights

- Monday–Friday schedule
- Shared weekend rotation approximately once per month

Responsibilities
- Evaluate and manage patients with acute and chronic cardiovascular conditions
- Conduct new patient consultations and follow-up appointments
- Participate in hospital rounding and inpatient cardiovascular consultations
- Order and review EKGs, laboratory studies, imaging, stress tests, and other diagnostic testing
- Develop and manage treatment plans with the cardiology team
- Manage medications and coordinate specialty referrals
- Educate patients regarding diagnoses, treatments, medications, and cardiovascular health
- Participate in the shared weekend coverage rotation
Qualifications
- Board-certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
- Active Florida license or ability to obtain one before starting
- Minimum of two years of experience as an Advanced Practice Provider
- Cardiology, hospital medicine, or acute care experience strongly preferred
- Acute Care NP or Adult-Gerontology Acute Care NP certification preferred
- Strong clinical judgment and communication skills
- Collaborative, patient-centered approach to care
