Position Summary:
The Mammography Technologist is responsible for performing mammographic imaging procedures to assist in the diagnosis of breast diseases. This role requires a commitment to providing excellent patient care while adhering to safety protocols and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform high-quality mammography examinations in accordance with established protocols.
- Ensure patient comfort and explain procedures to alleviate anxiety.
- Maintain and operate mammography equipment, ensuring proper calibration and functionality.
- Review and evaluate images for technical quality and ensure proper documentation.
- Collaborate with radiologists and other medical staff to discuss findings and enhance patient care.
- Adhere to all safety standards and protocols, including the use of protective equipment.
- Maintain patient records and imaging documentation, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Participate in continuous education and training to stay updated on technological advancements and best practices in mammography.
- Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the imaging department.
Working Conditions:
- Radiation exposure; adherence to safety protocols is essential.
Qualifications
Qualifications
- Valid certification as a Mammography Technologist (e.g., ARRT certification in Mammography).
- Current state licensure, or licensure within 12 months
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in mammography preferred.
- Strong understanding of breast anatomy and pathology.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
