$169,300.00 - $282,300.00

This pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation that the position offers, and final compensation can vary within the range depending on work location, job experience, skills, and relevant educational attainment and/or training.

Job Title: Finance Director, Regional Controller - USA

Location: Lake Forest/Irvine, CA

Employment Type: Full Time (Hybrid 3 days a week in office)

*Due to the hybrid nature of the position, a successful candidate will currently reside within a reasonable commuting distance (<50 miles) of the Lake Forest, CA office.

The job

As the Director, Regional Controller reporting directly to the Vice President of Finance for the Americas, you will oversee all accounting operations and processes for our US legal entities. Through your leadership of the team, you will drive excellence in financial reporting and ensure all deadlines are met with precision. Your leadership will be instrumental in shaping the financial strategy of our US software business, contributing directly to our continued success in the industrial software sector.

Key responsibilities

- Own end-to-end controllership for the US region , with full accountability for the integrity of the US trial balance (P&L, balance sheet, and key reserves) across US legal entities.

- Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close —driving accurate , timely results, strong governance, and clear executive-ready reporting for a ~$1B sales unit.

- Strong leadership to drive a SOX compliance culture - B e responsible for maintaining a demonstrably robust internal control framework.

- Help drive a cost efficient mindset – Ensuring transparency and visibility on costs to be an advocate for a cost efficient mindset in the organization.

- Ensure compliance with IFRS/US GAAP requirements, including oversight of revenue recognition under IFRS 15 / ASC 606, and work ing with the group acc ounting t ea m, author/key-review accounting position papers for complex or emerging topics.

- Own audit and statutory readiness, serving as primary liaison for internal and external auditors.

- Lead cross-functional accounting coordination working with central teams in tax, treasury/banking, and shared services ensuring clear ownership, service levels, and issue resolution across time zones.

- Build and develop a high-performing controllership organization , including talent planning, coaching, performance management, and continuous improvement in close and reporting processes.

Essential requirements

- 10+ years of relevant experience, demonstrating increasing levels of responsibility and success with accountable experience in a Controller role as well as comfort working in a global organization with central finance sub functions and shared service centers
- Direct working knowledge of accounting regulations, particularly IFRS 15 and/or ASC 606.

- D emonstrable experience operating within a Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliant environment with strong understanding of risk assessment, control documentation, deficiency remediation, and governance .

Desired skills

- CPA or similar professional designation. Experience with a Big 4 /Public Accounting firm is advantageous .

- Strong communication skills to be able to engage with key stakeholders including the VP Finance Americas, other global leaders within Finance and key members of the Americas Commercial team.
- Proficiency in one or more ERP systems (preferably Oracle Fusion ) and financ ial reportin g too ls
- O perate with speed of execution with the drive to execute to timelines. E xperience in the Software industry.
- Strong organization skills to be able to fully leverage the team across both operational and transformational aspects of the role   ​​
