BT-444 – Machine Learning Engineer
Location: McLean, VA (fully on-site, no remote option)

Introduction
The client seeks to deploy web applications, build Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) pipelines, and develop Data Science solutions using artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML) frameworks and programming languages to support customer requirements and address key intelligence questions. The Client requires AI/ML engineers who have demonstrated experience in building tools and workflows on the Client’s OpenLake platform. Effectively, these solutions will accelerate analytic workflows and enable partners to derive key insights from large data stores. The work will be performed within a team environment.
Work Requirements

- The Contractor Team shall work closely with the Client’s technical team (Data Scientists, Data Engineers, Application Developers, and Data Management Coordinators) to implement requirements as dictated by the Client’s GTM priorities.
- The Contractor Team shall leverage the Client’s instance of OpenLake to develop deliverables leveraging the best-in-class AI/ML models.
- The Contractor Team shall create resilient data engineering pipelines that leverage open-source technologies such as, Trino, Iceberg, SQL, Postgres, Spark, Neo4j, Elasticsearch, Apache Hive and integrate seamlessly within OpenLake.
- The Contractor Team shall develop robust web applications utilizing modem web frameworks such as React and Node on the Client’s OpenLake platform.
- The Contractor Team shall provide technical guidance to the Client’s technical team on an ad-hoc basis.
- The Contractor Team shall provide subject matter expertise on AI/ML, web application development, and ETL.
- The Contractor Team shall ensure that all technical development and content complies with Client’s security policies and regulations.
- The Contractor Team shall utilize project management systems such as Confluence and JIRA to define and track requirements.
- The Contractor Team shall maintain all code, to include infrastructure, in GitHub, which can be readily accessible to the Client.
- The Contractor Team shall maintain all cloud infrastructure and system accreditation associated with the OpenLake platform and production applications developed on the platform.
Required Skills:
- Demonstrates experience working on OpenLake [all resources on this effort must have this skill].
- Demonstrates experience navigating, developing, and deploying production ready data pipelines and web applications on OpenLake.
- Demonstrates experience in developing AI/ML solutions that can answer key intelligence questions.
- Demonstrates experience using Elasticsearch, Neo4j, Kibana, Javascript, Trino, Apache Hive, and Apache.
- Demonstrates experience leveraging Amazon Web Services for automation, app deployment, and resource management.
- Demonstrates experience leveraging GPUs for accelerated computing.
- Demonstrates experience in working with junior data scientists, data engineers, and application developers.
- Demonstrates experience in managing and developing system accreditation and security relevant documentation.
- Demonstrates experience working with multiple stakeholders.
- Demonstrates experience in developing deliverables at scale, and not one-off solutions.
Desired Skills:

- Demonstrates experience with Client A&A processes.
- Demonstrates experience in working with a variety of the Client’s data systems and sources. Demonstrates knowledge in the Client’s Data Management principles and workflows.
