# Job Description:

The Application Architect is responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining secure, scalable and maintainable enterprise applications while serving as a key technology partner to the business.

The Application Architect will work closely with business stakeholders, subject matter experts, product owners, and technology teams to understand business problems, identify opportunities for process improvement, and apply technology to automate, simplify, and streamline business processes.

The architect will provide technical leadership with a strong focus on Oracle database architecture, design and development within a Java Spring Boot, Angular and Oracle application environment and establish common architectural standards across applications.

What You'll Be Doing:

Architecture & Solution Design

- Develop and maintain common architecture standards aligned with enterprise technology strategies, standards, and business objectives.
- Design scalable, highly available, secure, and resilient application solutions.
- Establish common standards for application, database, integration, security, and data architecture.
- Promote reusable application services, APIs, database utilities and frameworks.
- Identify opportunities to standardize solutions across applications.
- Balance enterprise standards with the specific needs of individual business processes and solutions.
- Incorporate security principles into application architecture, including authentication, authorization, encryption, secure coding, and data protection.
- Ensure applications meet required operational, disaster recovery, monitoring, and observability standards.

Oracle Database Architecture and Design

- Serve as a technical authority for Oracle database architecture and design supporting enterprise applications.
- Design logical and physical database models that effectively support business processes, application requirements, reporting, integration, and future growth.
- Design database solutions that support high transaction volumes, concurrency, scalability, availability, and recoverability.
- Establish standards for data integrity, referential integrity, data quality, consistency, and transactional processing.
- Define tables, columns, primary keys, foreign keys, unique constraints, check constraints, indexes, sequences, views, materialized views, and other database objects.
- Design, develop and review complex SQL and PL/SQL, including stored procedures, functions, packages and triggers.
- Design, develop and test efficient data access patterns between Java/Spring applications and Oracle databases.
- Establish standards for when business logic should reside in the application layer versus the database layer.

- Define API standards and integration approaches for internal systems, external applications, databases, and third-party services.

Technical Leadership

- Provide technical direction and mentorship to software engineers and development teams.
- Collaborate with development teams throughout the software development lifecycle, from requirements through implementation and production support.
- Facilitate technical discussions and help teams make informed architecture and technology decisions.
- Communicate complex technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Stay current with Java, Spring, Oracle, cloud, integration, and enterprise architecture trends.

What We Are Looking For:

- Requires a minimum of 10 years of related experience with a 4 year degree; or 8 years and an advanced degree; or equivalent experience.
- Expert with Oracle Database, SQL, and application/database integration.
- Strong experience designing enterprise applications and distributed systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience creating architecture documentation and presenting technical solutions to stakeholders.
- Experience with Java/J2EE.
- Experience with Spring Framework and Spring Boot.
- Experience with REST APIs, microservices, and enterprise integration patterns.
- Experience with application performance, scalability, security, and resiliency.
- Demonstrated ability to provide technical leadership and mentor development teams.

Work Arrangement: Hybrid: 2 days in office/3 days work from home

# Annual Hiring Range/Hourly Rate:
$121,300.00 - $176,000.00

Actual compensation offer to candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level. The pay ratio between base pay and target incentive (if applicable) will be finalized at offer.
