About this role

The The Supplier Quality Field Engineer works with field Reliability, Supplier Quality, Industrialization Engineers to identify and validate the impact of issues root caused to supplier design, manufacturing/process non-conformities affecting our Tesla fleet in North America and overseas markets. In collaboration with Supply Chain Managers, they will execute cost recovery projects based on root cause analysis as well as supplier agreements (technical factors), this while collecting evidence to serve as foundation for Supplier Warranty Liability Agreements.

Serve as the Key point of contact for Warranty Supplier chargebacks (end customer replacements) for vehicles produced at the Fremont Factory Monitor containments created at the factory that may have included escapes to the field for the same issue prior to containment.  Collaborating on Service campaign documentation, defining suspect window population and assessing with Service teams the documentation required to make sure field replacements are correctly done (Technical Service Bulletin)  Collaboration on Field replacements investigation by determining the suspected impact to Tesla once Root cause and Corrective actions have been determined Lead Service Campaign / Recall cost recovery for supplier caused issues  Provide support to Procurement (SCM, GSM) team on cost recovery negotiation

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent experience  5+ years of component or assembly plant experience supporting or similar in Supplier Quality, Supplier Development, Process, Quality, or Manufacturing Engineering role Knowledge. Experience in a vehicle manufacturing organization is strongly preferred  Strong presentation skills – prepared, confident, and passionate, using clear and organized content with strong visuals to engage an audience. Ability to communicate across cultures and geographic regions  Proven ability to operate under pressure with rigid time constraints  Can track and manage multiple tasks simultaneously; Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, occasionally requiring extended hours  Quality systems management and Quality Tools strong experience (8D, Fishbone, Control chart, Histogram, etc.)

Expected Compensation $84,000 - $174,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
