About the role:
Junior Chef or Commis, Banquet Culinary
As a Junior Chef / Commis in Banquet Culinary, you will be part of the team behind some of the most memorable events at Four Seasons Hotel Singapore. From intimate celebrations to grand-scale weddings, conferences and bespoke occasions, you will have the opportunity to experience the energy, creativity and precision that go into delivering exceptional culinary experiences at scale.
Working alongside experienced chefs, you will build your culinary foundation while gaining exposure to a diverse range of menus, cuisines and service styles. This is a hands-on environment where curiosity is encouraged, high standards are expected, and every service is an opportunity to sharpen your craft.

What you will do:
- Support the preparation and execution of high-quality dishes for banquets, conferences, weddings and special events, ensuring consistency in taste, presentation and portion.
- Work alongside the culinary team to prepare mise en place and ensure your station is fully organised and ready for service.
- Follow recipes, production plans and presentation standards while maintaining precision and consistency across high-volume operations.
- Gain exposure to a variety of menus, cuisines and culinary techniques through diverse banquet events and functions.
- Work closely with senior chefs to execute menus efficiently and respond to changing event requirements.
- Maintain strong awareness of food allergies, dietary requirements and food safety standards.
- Monitor and maintain proper storage, labelling, temperature control and rotation of food products.
- Ensure your workstation, equipment and surrounding areas are clean, organised and ready for service at all times.
- Assist with proper handling, storage and rotation of ingredients to minimise wastage and maintain product quality.
- Support the team during service, remaining focused and organised while working to tight timelines and high-volume requirements.
- Communicate proactively with senior chefs regarding preparation progress, shortages, quality concerns or operational challenges.
- Learn from experienced chefs through daily coaching, hands-on guidance and exposure to different aspects of banquet culinary operations.
- Contribute to a positive, respectful and collaborative kitchen environment.
What you bring:
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Junior Chef / Commis, preferably within a luxury hotel.
- Genuine passion for food and a strong desire to develop your culinary craft.
- Keen interest in learning different cuisines, techniques and banquet culinary operations.
- Strong attention to detail with pride in consistency, presentation and quality.
- Positive, energetic and adaptable mindset, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced kitchen.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a diverse culinary team.
- Strong work ethic, reliability and willingness to take ownership of your responsibilities.
- Open to feedback and eager to learn from experienced chefs.
- Good understanding of food hygiene and safety practices.

Schedule & Hours:
This position requires a person with a flexible schedule and the ability to work on a rotating shift basis, including weekends, and holidays.
