About this role

Clinical trial participation can be overwhelming for patients, which leads to decreased study participation and poorer health outcomes for both current and future cancer patients, especially in already underserved populations. The Clinical Trial Educator will play an essential role in working directly with patients to address many of the barriers faced in the process of clinical trial participation. The Clinical Trial Educator will work in conjunction with research team at Fox Chase Cancer Center for a 2-year grant funded study. This Clinical Trial Educator will help assist with recruitment and education on clinical trials for patients across Fox Chase Cancer Center and Temple University Hospital. The responsibilities of this role will include, but are not limited to:

· Screening, recruitment, and obtaining informed consent from patients for participation in a study assessing the value of patient education and coordination to support clinical trial decision making

· Maintaining multiple detailed databases to track screened, consented, enrolled, and intervention patients.

· Identifying patient’s educational needs, barriers, and resource needs using strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Education
Bachelor's Degree Public Health, Community Health, or related field Required
Master's Degree Public Health, Community Health, or related field Preferred or
Combination of relevant education and experience may be considered in lieu of degree Required

Experience
1 year experience in a related role. Preferred
General Experience with Bilingual English/Spanish language. Preferred
