About the Position

Bethanna is looking for an Intervention Specialist to provide support to children, youth, and families experiencing behavioral health crises.

This position provides services in the home, school, and community . The Intervention Specialist helps families manage and stabilize crises, reduce safety risks, develop safety plans, and connect with needed services.

The position is supervised by the Clinical Team Supervisor .

Responsibilities

- Provide face-to-face crisis intervention and therapeutic services.

- Help children, youth, and families manage and stabilize behavioral health crises.

- Provide approximately 2–3 therapy sessions per week for each client, with additional services as needed.

- Use crisis intervention, de-escalation, motivational interviewing, behavior management, and solution-focused techniques.

- Develop and update safety and risk management plans.

- Support parents and caregivers.

- Identify additional services and resources families may need.

- Connect families with community providers and other services.

- Provide telephone support during and outside of regular service hours as needed.

- Work with the Clinical Team Supervisor, case managers, psychiatrists, and other providers to coordinate care.

- Help determine when a child or youth may need a psychiatric evaluation or higher level of care.

- Complete required reports, assessments, progress notes, safety plans, and other documentation.

- Complete documentation within required timelines, generally within 24 hours of providing services.

- Follow all Bethanna, state, county, and managed care requirements.

- Attend required trainings and staff meetings.

- Maintain required licenses and certifications when applicable.

- Build positive working relationships with families, schools, community providers, and other agencies/

On-Call as needed; more details will be provided during interviews and throughout application process.

Qualifications

Requirements

- Masters degree from a regionally accredited college or university in a mental health field, such as:

Clinical Psychology

- Mental Health Counseling

- Clinical Social Work

- Another clinically related field

- Graduate-level clinical practicum and internship experience working with children and adolescents under direct clinical supervision.

- At least 2 years of post-Masters clinical experience working with children and adolescents .

- Online degrees without direct clinical supervision will not be accepted.

- Must maintain any required professional license or certification.
