Position Summary

The Person In Charge (PIC) is responsible for overseeing store operations in the absence of the Store Director and Assistant Store Director. The PIC ensures a safe, customer-focused, and operationally efficient environment while providing leadership and direction to associates across all departments. This role supports sales growth, customer satisfaction, and compliance with company policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities Store Leadership

- Assume responsibility for overall store operations when designated as the acting manager.

- Provide leadership, direction, and support to associates across all departments.

- Ensure company policies, procedures, and operational standards are consistently followed.

- Communicate priorities and operational expectations to department teams.

Customer Experience

- Promote a customer-first culture throughout the store.

- Respond to customer questions, concerns, and service issues promptly and professionally.

- Ensure departments maintain high standards of service, cleanliness, and presentation.

- Foster positive shopping experiences that encourage customer loyalty.

Operational Execution

- Monitor store conditions to ensure cleanliness, organization, and readiness for business.

- Assist with merchandising, inventory replenishment, and promotional execution.

- Ensure proper opening, closing, and shift transition procedures are followed.

- Support department managers in achieving operational goals.

Safety & Compliance

- Maintain a safe environment for associates and customers.

- Enforce food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards.

- Ensure compliance with company policies, cash handling procedures, and asset protection programs.

- Address and report operational or safety concerns promptly.

Associate Support & Development

- Provide guidance and support to associates during daily operations.

- Coach associates on service expectations and operational procedures.

- Promote teamwork and positive working relationships across departments.

- Assist with training and onboarding efforts as needed.

Inventory & Asset Protection

- Support inventory management and shrink reduction initiatives.

- Monitor store assets and ensure proper operational controls are followed.

- Assist in identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce loss.
