Job Summary

Responsible for managing Engineering Change Notices (ECNs),
Product Change Notifications (PCNs), component obsolescence activities, and
alternate component qualification to ensure uninterrupted production and
product lifecycle support. The role works closely with Design Engineering, SCM,
Quality, Manufacturing, and Customers to identify risks from obsolete
components and implement qualified alternate solutions with minimal business
impact.

Key Responsibilities

Engineering Change Management (ECN/ECO)

- Review
and process Engineering Change Requests (ECRs), ECOs, and ECNs.
- Evaluate
the impact of engineering changes on:
- BOM
- Drawings
- Specifications
- Manufacturing
processes
- Inventory

- Coordinate
approvals from Engineering, Quality, Operations, and Supply Chain.
- Track
ECN implementation status and ensure timely closure.
- Maintain
revision control and documentation compliance within PLM/ERP systems.
- Support
NPI-to-production transitions through controlled implementation of
engineering changes.

Component Obsolescence Management

- Monitor
component lifecycle status using OEM notifications, PCNs, and lifecycle
databases.
- Identify
End-of-Life (EOL), Not Recommended for New Design (NRND), and obsolete
components.
- Assess
the impact of obsolete parts on active products and customer programs.
- Develop
mitigation plans to address supply continuity risks.
- Maintain
an obsolescence risk register and provide periodic management reports.

Alternate Part Identification & Qualification

- Identify
suitable alternate components considering:
- Form
- Fit
- Function
- Reliability
- Compliance
requirements

- Perform
parametric comparison of alternate parts.
- Coordinate
qualification testing and validation activities.
- Prepare
technical justification reports and deviation requests.
- Support
AVL (Approved Vendor List) expansion activities.
- Work
with suppliers and manufacturers to evaluate alternative sourcing options.

BOM & Documentation Management

- Update
BOMs based on approved engineering changes.
- Ensure
all alternate parts are documented and approved before release.
- Conduct
BOM health checks and lifecycle analysis.
- Maintain
engineering databases and change records.
