Responsibilities for Surveillance Security Guard

- Monitor security systems and surveillance equipment to identify suspicious, unusual, or unauthorized activity.

- Conduct regular surveillance, foot patrols, and site inspections to help maintain the safety and security of the premises.

- Respond promptly and professionally to security incidents, emergencies, and potential threats in accordance with site procedures.

- Monitor and control access to secure areas, including verifying visitor, employee, and contractor identification when required.

- Observe and assess security concerns , including potential system vulnerabilities, equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, or unusual activity, and report them appropriately.

- Prepare accurate and detailed reports , including daily activity reports, incident reports, and documentation of observed events.

- Maintain clear and professional communication with clients, supervisors, employees, contractors, visitors, and members of the public.

- Provide contractor watch and escort services as required by the assigned site.

- Coordinate with law enforcement, emergency services, or other appropriate authorities when serious incidents or emergencies occur.

- Follow all company and client policies, procedures, post orders, and site-specific security requirements.

- Report safety, security, and operational concerns promptly to the appropriate supervisor or contact.

Qualifications for Surveillance Security Guard

- Must be 18 years of age or older .

- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada .

- Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Security Guard Licence as required.

- First Aid certification is considered an asset.

- Strong observation and attention-to-detail skills .

- Good visual awareness and the ability to maintain focus for extended periods .

- Strong report-writing and documentation skills .

- Comfortable using technology, computers, surveillance systems, and security equipment .

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills .

- Professional, reliable, dependable, and committed to providing excellent security service.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team .

- Ability to stand and walk throughout the shift and perform regular foot patrols.

- Willingness to work casual, as-needed shifts .

- Availability to accept additional hours or shifts when available is an asset.

- Availability to work evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays may be required depending on the assigned site.
