Job Summary

The Service Electrical Engineer is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising all electrical maintenance, diagnostics, troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance activities for tractors, harvesters, loaders, heavy-duty equipment, and support vehicles. The role ensures maximum equipment availability through effective management of electrical systems, compliance with maintenance standards, efficient utilization of manpower and spare parts, and adherence to company safety policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Key Duties and Responsibilities

- Plan and supervise electrical maintenance activities for tractors, harvesters, loaders, heavy-duty equipment, and fleet vehicles.

- Coordinate electrical troubleshooting and diagnostics to ensure timely identification and rectification of electrical and electronic faults.

- Develop preventive maintenance schedules for electrical systems including charging systems, lighting, sensors, wiring harnesses, and electronic control systems.

- Stores Coordinate with Stores and Procurement to ensure timely availability of electrical spare parts, batteries, alternators, starters, relays, sensors, and electrical accessories.

- Monitor quality of electrical repairs and ensure repairs are completed correctly at first instance to eliminate repeat failures.

- Review maintenance records and technical reports to analyze recurring electrical faults and recommend corrective actions.

- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to electrical supervisors, technicians, and workshop personnel.

- Ensure compliance with SOPs, OEM recommendations, and safety standards during all electrical maintenance activities.

- Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at improving equipment reliability, reducing downtime, and optimizing maintenance costs.

Educational Qualification and Work Experience

- B.Sc./HND in Electrical Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or related discipline.

- NATE or COREN certificate is an added advantage.

- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in electrical maintenance of heavy-duty equipment, tractors, harvesters, loaders, and fleet vehicles.
