Why this role matters
We are currently looking for a Construction Mechanical Engineer to join our Owner’s Team for the Shadwan 900 MW Wind Project in Ras Shukeir, Red Sea, Egypt. In this role, you will review contractor OEM technical documentation and supervise all mechanical works carried out on turbines, ensuring compliance with manuals, HSE, and quality requirements. This is a technical and supervisory role within construction, not a quality-department role.
What you’ll be doing
In this role, you will:
- Review contractor OEM technical documentation, including erection manuals, procedures, and method statements.
- Supervise mechanical works on turbines, including offloading, erection, and internal works.
- Verify compliance with Scatec’s HSE and quality requirements.
- Attend and witness hold points and critical stages of turbine erection.
- Coordinate with WTG contractor teams to resolve technical queries.
- Track turbine-level progress and report compliance status.
- Escalate non-conformances or documentation gaps to site HSE and quality functions.
- Support technical correspondence related to OEM procedures and turbine-specific queries.

What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Prior experience in wind turbine construction, erection, or mechanical completion (preferred).
- Strong ability to read and interpret OEM technical documentation.
- Comfortable working on active construction sites alongside contractor teams.
- Strong documentation and reporting skills.
- Fluent in English, spoken and written.
