Why this role matters

We are currently looking for a Deputy Construction Mechanical Lead to join our Owner’s Team for the Shadwan 900 MW Wind Project in Ras Shukeir, Red Sea, Egypt. In this role, you will support the Construction Mechanical Lead in overseeing WTG mechanical erection across the site, stepping in to run day-to-day activities and mentoring the growing mechanical team. This position is central to ensuring erection quality and progress as the project scales up.

What you’ll be doing

In this role, you will:

- Act as deputy to the Construction Mechanical Lead, running day-to-day mechanical construction activities in their absence.

- Oversee WTG mechanical erection progress across multiple turbines, coordinating engineers and technician crews.

- Review contractor erection plans, method statements, and technical submittals against OEM and project requirements.

- Support mechanical quality surveillance and NCR management for erection and completion works.

- Coordinate with QA/QC, HSE, and site engineering teams on inspection holds and release points.

- Mentor and support newly onboarded mechanical engineers and supervisors.

- Track and report mechanical progress, risks, and resource needs to the Construction Mechanical Lead.

- Represent the mechanical team in site coordination meetings with the WTG contractor.

What you’ll bring

- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

- Solid hands-on WTG erection or mechanical completion experience, including prior supervisory or lead experience.

- Strong knowledge of OEM erection procedures, torque/tensioning standards, and mechanical QA/QC.

- Experience managing or mentoring technician and engineer teams on site.

- Comfortable reviewing technical documentation, NCRs, and contractor submittals.

- Fluent in English, spoken and written.
