About the Role
You will own the core agent infrastructure that powers AI systems, including the orchestration layer, tool integrations, retrieval, and evaluation that support patient-facing and internal workflows. This is a systems and infrastructure role focused on designing end-to-end agentic workflows and shipping reliable systems with ongoing monitoring and improvement.
What You'll Do
- Design and implement the orchestration layer for multi-step agentic workflows across clinic operations and internal processes.
- Integrate external tools and APIs into agent systems with reliable tool calling and robust error handling.
- Build retrieval and evaluation infrastructure to measure and improve agent reliability and accuracy.
- Automate recurring manual work by identifying opportunities and shipping systems to eliminate them.
- Monitor agent performance in production and iterate on system design based on real-world behavior.
What We're Looking For
- Strong CS fundamentals and mathematical abilities demonstrated through academic achievement, competition, or self-directed learning.
- Experience or strong project work with agent or LLM systems including orchestration, tool integrations, retrieval-augmented generation, or evaluation frameworks.
- Automations mindset with a track record of turning manual workflows into reliable, scalable systems.
- Open to recent graduates and self-taught builders; professional experience is welcome but not required.
Compensation & Benefits
Base salary range: USD 150,000 to USD 220,000 annually. Meaningful equity and a supportive early-stage startup environment. Visa sponsorship not available.
Location
On-site, primary location in San Francisco, California, United States. The role is full-time and requires in-person work five days per week.
