Purpose and Scope:
The Information Technology Manager is responsible for providing technical assistance to the Company in the facilitation of planning and directing the complex design, installation, modification and operation of an information systems capability.
Must be able to respond to international emergency requirements twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week (24/7), three hundred and sixty-five (365) days per year.
Essential Responsibilities:
Evaluates vendor proposals for purchases of hardware, software and technical services to assure adherence to technical specifications.~Analyzes proposed and current projects for feasibility of using information systems.~Prepares long- and short-range plans for application and software selection, application and software roadmap, software systems development, systems and infrastructure maintenance planning, production activities and for necessary support resources.~Plans and recommends changes to the capacity of the operating system and its configuration.~Prepares cost estimates for current and proposed projects, reflecting the equipment and staff requirements.~Provides input into development of annual operating plans.~Provides technical assistance to management in the facilitation of planning and directing complex issues, installations, modifications and operations.~Communicates company and group vision, goals and strategies to build awareness and commitment within the group.~Shapes the organizational direction and goals for IT-project management.~Leads strategic planning within the IT Group and responsible for aligning IT department with Enterprise strategic plans.~Ensures overall IT compliance with Audit and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements. Provides direction in developing and maintaining appropriate IT security levels.~Responsible for the management and professional development of personnel.~Responsible for budgetary and financial targets within IT organization.~Participates in short- and long-term special projects that deliver strategic objectives.~Manages projects and personnel.~Oversees the administration and maintenance of the company's infrastructure and directs, leads and manages as necessary.~Works with diverse business groups and customers to implement strategic objectives for the IT organization.~Plans and implements improvements in all areas of IT responsibility.~Mentors and encourages development of junior level employees to take responsibility for their development within the company.~Reports to an IT Director.~Performs all other position related duties as assigned or requested.~
Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Education: Bachelors degree in related discipline or equivalent. Experience: 10+ years of experience in Information Technology. Applicable and proven experience in Information Technology management. Good oral and written communication skills; working knowledge of word-processing and integrated software applications; organizational skills and ability to perform detail-oriented work are required. Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance. Position may require travel.
Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:
Position requires significant international travel to austere environments.
