As Product Owner – Web & Digital Experience, you’ll be the voice of our users and the digital product owner for this important portfolio. You’ll set the product direction, turn user and organisational needs into a clear strategy and roadmap, and bring stakeholders and delivery teams together around a shared vision. With several significant website projects ahead, this is an opportunity to shape the next generation of Auckland’s digital experiences while preparing the portfolio for changing customer expectations, emerging technologies and an AI-enabled future.

In this role, you will:

- Lead discovery, identify the problems and opportunities to address, and clearly articulate the expected user and organisational value, benefits and measures of success.

- Guide major website redevelopments and ongoing improvements from discovery through delivery, bringing designers, developers, content specialists, business analysts, technology teams and external partners together around a clear product vision. Champion accessible, customer-centred digital experiences that improve navigation, discoverability, engagement, conversion, self-service and overall website performance.

- Explore and implement practical AI-enabled opportunities, including intelligent search and chatbot experiences, while considering how AI will reshape customer expectations and access to information.

- Own priorities across the roadmap and backlog, make informed scope and trade-off decisions, and provide delivery teams with the clarity needed to deliver value.

- Lead productive stakeholder, vendor and partner relationships, including contract and account management, service performance reviews and negotiations.

- Monitor product performance, benefits, risks, dependencies, technical debt and lifecycle needs to ensure the portfolio remains effective, resilient and fit for the future.
