An exciting opportunity is available for a Vehicle Mechanic to join our Defence Maintenance Contract (DMC) team based at Puckapunyal , north of Melbourne.

In this hands-on role, you'll carry out maintenance and repairs on a diverse fleet of military vehicles, including 4WDs, trucks, tracked and armoured vehicles, infantry personnel carriers, and even tanks.

This is a unique opportunity to work on specialised Defence assets rarely found in the civilian sector.

About the Role

- Conduct maintenance, servicing, inspections and fault-finding activities
- Perform technical inspections and vehicle classifications
- Repair or replace worn and faulty components, including engines, transmissions and differentials
- Reassemble, test, clean and adjust repaired components
- Carry out minor body and trim repairs
- Diagnose and repair vehicle electrical systems, including lighting, ignition and electronic fuel injection systems
- Inspect vehicles and issue roadworthiness certificates where required

About You

- Certificate III in Heavy Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent trade qualification.
- Demonstrated experience inspecting, servicing and repairing light, medium and heavy vehicles.
- Current Australian State or Territory Class C Driver's Licence.

You must be an Australian Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a minimum Australian Government Baseline Security Clearance.
