The Design Engineer will be responsible for the project specific design incl. design documentation based on order specification and rules and regulation of valid classification society, following internal standards and processes!

Main tasks and responsibilities

- Creation of 3D models if applicable, drawings, part lists (bill of material) and calculations, design release

- Review of performance and strength/fatigue calculation

- Preparation of technical specifications for parts and components

- Preparation of manufacturing documentation and approval packages for customer and classification society

- Technical Sales support, preparation of test protocols and instructions

Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager. The position will be based in MacGregor's office in Tianjin, China.

What you’ll need to succeed

We are looking for a person with basic knowledge of machinery and mechanics, and the ability to work with CAD , preferred Inventor and Autodesk CAD tools. As a person you are cooperative, customer oriented and have technical skills.

Ideally you have

- B.Sc./M.Sc. in mechanical engineering or comparable education or long experience in mechanical Work on Marine or ship building for more than 5 years

- Good knowledge and experience in maritime business and class requirements

- Good experience in mechanical design in association with hydraulic and electric drive systems (motors, gears, clutches, actuators etc.)

- Experience with related calculation tools and strength analysis

- Familiar with mechanical properties and typical application scenarios of common engineering materials.

- Fluent in both written and spoken English
